Introduction
The universe is a dangerous and wonderful place
at the same time. We don’t know a lot about the
universe. The question about how big is the
Universe have puzzled scientists forever
and they think it may be end less or could have
boundaries . It may be curved around itself like
a big sphere. What we do know is that, the
universe is getting bigger every second. Every
second galaxies are slowly moving away from each
other. In our great galaxy known as the Milky
Way, there are billions of stars. Some stars
have planets orbiting them. Our Sun is just one
of those stars. Our Sun along with all the other
planets travel around the Milky Way, at a speed
of 250km a second! Our planet orbits the Sun at
a speed of 107,300km an hour.
This brief description talks all about the
universe, galaxies, stars and the planet Earth.

The Universe
The universe is a huge place. Every day new
stars form in the vastness of our universe. We
haven’t traveled too far. But we have sent
probes out in space. Voyager 2 went as far as
Neptune. Voyager 1 has a gold plaque, showing
humans on it and our solar system.
Stephen Hawking is one of the greatest
scientist’s in the world. He couldn’t speak or
hear very well. because of a disease. He suggested that black holes
really could exist. He also suggested that our
universe is not alone. There might be others
making a ”super-universe“.
Galaxy
Galaxies
Galaxies contain billions of
stars. There are four main types of stars.
Spiral, irregular, elliptical and barred spiral.
Our galaxy is known as the Milky Way.
Scientist’s suggest that in the center of our
galaxy, there is a huge black hole. But it would
take millions of light years for us to reach the
center.
Stars
There are trillions of stars in the universe.
Stars form in the clouds called nebulae. The clouds
are pulled together by their gravity. If the
temperature rises to 18 million F nuclear fusion
starts. Gradually, the star turns bigger.
Our Solar
System ( Look at the Earth.. How
small it is.)
Solar System
Our Sun is a bit smaller than an average star.
The Sun is made up of 75% hydrogen gases and 25%
helium gases. The Sun’s temperature is 27
million F the Sun’s surface is known as the
photosphere. The Sun’s atmosphere is made of two
layers. The corona and the chromospheres.
Our
Beautiful Home Planet Earth
Earth
Our wonderful planet, Earth is the fifth
largest planet in the solar system. The Earth’s
atmosphere is made up of the troposphere,
stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere and
exosphere.
There is a thin but vital layer of the ozone in
the stratosphere. It shields us from the sun’s
dangerous rays and ultra violet rays. But now we
have polluted
the Earth to such an extent that has lead to big
holes in the ozone layer which protects us
from UV rays. If UV rays come straight to earth
it will start killing both plants and animals on
Earth. Also because of carbon dioxide pollution
earth is experiencing greenhouse effect and
that's why its average
temperature is slowly rising. Global warming can
lead to humans extinction and that is why we must stop
the pollution!
